The OSG 402-1181 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 0.1181 inch (3.00 mm) mill diameter and a 0.3937 inch (10.00 mm) length of cut, this tool handles slotting, profiling, and finishing passes in tight tolerances. The two-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Micrograin carbide construction provides rigidity and wear resistance. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry. This end mill runs uncoated and is suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC or manual milling equipment.
This end mill is appropriate for small-diameter milling work in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where accuracy and surface finish are critical. The regular-length profile and 3.00 mm shank diameter make it compatible with standard collets and tool holders used in CNC machining centers, vertical mills, and similar equipment. The 39.00 mm overall length fits standard tooling setups without requiring extended-reach holders. It is commonly used in production shops, tool rooms, and precision job shops for finishing slots, profiles, and contours in aluminum, brass, mild steel, and similar workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for 3.00 mm shank collets and tool holders used in CNC machining centers and vertical milling machines. Part of the OSG Series 402 regular-length square end mill line.
Installation and removal should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully powered down and locked out per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder rated for the 3.00 mm shank diameter to ensure concentricity and prevent pullout. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cuts. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the diameter to avoid tool deflection or breakage.
