The OSG 36702711 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding material applications. It features a 1/2 inch diameter, a 0.0300 inch corner radius, and a 4-flute configuration with a 30-degree helix angle. The WXL PVD coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability. This is a single-end, centercutting tool with a 1 inch length of cut and a 3 inch overall length. The straight cylindrical 1/2 inch shank is compatible with standard toolholders. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install this tool in production and job-shop environments where both roughing and finishing operations are required.
The OSG 36702711 is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its regular-length flute geometry and normal pitch make it a versatile choice for general-purpose profiling, slotting, and contouring operations. The corner radius geometry reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life compared to sharp-corner end mills. This tool is intended for use in CNC machining centers with appropriate toolholders.
Designed for use with standard CNC toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight cylindrical shank. The shank diameter tolerance is h6. Applicable to steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as identified by material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC setup technician. The spindle must be fully stopped and the machine must be in a safe state before changing tooling. Confirm toolholder runout is within acceptable limits before operation, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and toolholder manufacturer guidelines for clamping torque and pull-out force specifications.
