The OSG 36701811 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built on OSG Series 3670, it features a 5/16 inch diameter, a 0.0200 inch corner radius, and four right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle. The WXL PVD coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability, making this tool well suited for both roughing and finishing operations. Micrograin carbide construction supports tight tolerances, with a mill diameter tolerance of 0.0000 to -0.0008 inch and an h6 shank tolerance. Machinists and CNC operators select this tool when consistent edge life and dimensional accuracy are required across a wide range of workpiece materials.
This end mill is appropriate for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as CNC milling machines equipped with standard toolholders. It handles a broad material range including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry where required. With a regular-length configuration and straight-cylindrical shank, it fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders without adaptation. Typical applications include slotting, profiling, contouring, and pocket milling where a corner radius is needed to reduce stress concentrations and extend part life.
Designed for use with standard toolholders in CNC machining centers and milling machines. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, N, S, H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or lockout state before changing tooling. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the collet or end mill holder and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; apply external coolant or air blast as required by the workpiece material and operation.
