The OSG 36701511 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built on OSG Series 3670, this single-end tool features a 1/4 inch diameter, a 0.03 inch corner radius, and four helical right-hand flutes with a 30-degree helix angle. The WXL PVD coating extends tool life by improving wear resistance and heat dissipation at the cutting edge. Centercutting capability allows the tool to plunge directly into the workpiece. It is used by machinists and CNC operators running production runs on steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
This end mill suits both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup, reducing tool changes on tight-tolerance parts. The 3/4 inch length of cut and 2.5 inch overall length make it a compact, rigid option for shallow-to-medium depth pockets and profiles. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard collet-style toolholders and shrink-fit chucks used in CNC machining centers and manual mills. The micrograin carbide substrate supports feeds and speeds appropriate for high-hardness workpiece materials including superalloys and hardened steels.
Designed for use with standard collet-style toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch straight cylindrical shank. Part of the OSG Series 3670 corner radius end mill line.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per shop safety procedures. Ensure the toolholder bore is clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Shank diameter tolerance is h6; verify collet or chuck runout is within acceptable limits to avoid premature edge wear. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and OSG cutting data recommendations when setting speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material.
