Product Description

The OSG 36700511 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 1/8 inch cutting diameter, 0.01 inch corner radius, and four helical flutes, it delivers smooth material removal and controlled edge geometry on both roughing and finishing passes. The WXL PVD coating increases surface hardness and heat resistance, extending tool life when cutting ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. This is a single-end, centercutting tool with a regular length profile and straight cylindrical shank, intended for use in standard CNC toolholders.

This end mill is suited for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It fits applications where a small-diameter tool with a corner radius is required to blend radii, reduce corner chipping, or improve surface finish in tight features. The 1/2 inch length of cut and 1-1/2 inch overall length make it appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth passes in precision components. It is part of the OSG Series 3670 product line and is used with standard CNC milling toolholders.

Key Features

  • Solid micrograin carbide construction for rigidity and wear resistance
  • WXL PVD coating rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials
  • 0.01 inch corner radius reduces edge chipping and improves surface finish at corners
  • Four helical flutes with right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction for standard CNC milling spindles
  • Centercutting design allows direct plunge entry into workpiece material
  • Normal pitch with medium helix style balances chip evacuation and surface quality

Compatibility

Designed for use with standard CNC milling toolholders accepting a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank with h6 shank diameter tolerance. Part of the OSG Series 3670 corner radius end mill line.

Installation Notes

Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated per shop safety procedures. Ensure the toolholder collet or chuck is clean and within tolerance before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout on a small-diameter carbide tool accelerates breakage. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the cutting diameter without confirming rigidity of the workholding and machine setup.
