The OSG 36100611 is a 2-flute solid carbide ball end mill in the Series 3610 line, designed for high-performance milling in demanding ferrous and hard materials. The cutter measures 0.25 inches in diameter with a 0.25-inch length of cut and a 3-inch overall length. It carries OSG's proprietary WXL PVD coating, which is engineered for rigidity and wear resistance across a wide range of milling applications including roughing and finishing. The 30-degree helical flute geometry promotes chip evacuation and stable cutting action. The straight-cylindrical shank is 0.25 inches in diameter with an h6 tolerance fit. Material grade is ultra-fine micrograin carbide, which supports use in hard and abrasive workpiece materials.
This end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing passes in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials. It also performs in secondary applications involving non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The single-end, right-hand cutting and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional CNC machining center setups. The ball-nose profile makes it well suited for 3D contouring, profiling, and cavity work where a radius floor or blended surface is required. It is a common choice for die and mold work, aerospace component machining, and general precision machining operations.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle and tool holder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Confirm runout with a dial indicator after clamping, as excessive runout at this diameter will accelerate edge wear and reduce surface finish quality. Follow the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the specific workpiece material and do not exceed the rated depth of cut for the listed length of cut.
