The OSG 36100311 is a solid carbide ball end mill engineered for high-performance milling in demanding materials. Built on the Series 3610 Exocarb WXL platform, it features a 0.0938-inch mill diameter, a 0.0938-inch length of cut, and a 30-degree helix angle. The WXL PVD coating is applied over an ultra-fine micrograin carbide substrate, delivering the wear resistance and edge integrity required for hard milling and multi-material applications. With 2 right-hand helical flutes and a straight cylindrical shank, this single-end mill is suited for both roughing and finishing passes. It is installed and used by machinists and toolroom professionals in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, hard materials, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The WXL coating and ultra-fine micrograin carbide construction make it a strong choice for hard milling applications where tool longevity and surface finish consistency are critical. Its compact 0.0938-inch diameter suits tight-tolerance features, contoured profiles, and small-part work where a larger cutter cannot reach. The 0.25-inch shank fits standard collets and toolholders across most CNC machining platforms.
Rated for primary workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, H), and secondary materials including non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium (ISO codes N, S). Fits any toolholder or collet accepting a 0.25-inch straight shank.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolroom technicians on CNC or manual milling machines. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing or seating the tool. Seat the shank fully in the collet or toolholder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout at the tip after installation, as runout exceeding tolerance will accelerate wear on a small-diameter end mill of this size.
