The OSG 3330480 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. The 4.8 mm diameter bit features a 180-degree web-thinned point that reduces thrust and promotes accurate entry without a pilot hole. At 65 mm overall length with a 24 mm flute length, the stub-style body provides rigidity and minimizes deflection in short-reach applications. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6 mm in diameter for secure chuck retention. This bit is built for machinists, tool-and-die shops, and maintenance technicians working on CNC and manual drill press operations. The EgiAs coating supports wear resistance in demanding production cycles.
This screw machine length drill bit is suited for production drilling in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron. Its compact flute-to-diameter ratio of 2xD makes it well matched for high-cycle operations where rigidity and hole accuracy are priorities over deep-hole clearing. Typical applications include component drilling in fabrication shops, machine shops, and maintenance facilities using CNC machining centers or drill presses. Right-hand cutting geometry is standard for conventional spindle rotation.
Designed for drilling in steel, alloy steel, and cast iron workpieces. The 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard drill chucks and ER collet systems accepting that shank diameter. Part of the OSG Series 5700 screw machine drill line.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Verify shank seating and chuck torque per the machine manufacturer specifications before starting a cut. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow shop safety protocols when operating drill presses or machining centers.
