The OSG 3300315 is a solid carbide micro drill bit engineered for precision drilling in hard and abrasive materials. It carries a TiAlN (titanium aluminum nitride) coating that extends tool life at elevated cutting temperatures, making it well suited for dry or semi-dry machining operations. The drill features a 130-degree four-facet point geometry that improves centering accuracy and reduces walking on entry, which is critical when holding tight positional tolerances in small-diameter work. At 3.15 mm in diameter with a 56 mm overall length, this bit fits standard toolholding setups used in CNC drilling and precision machining environments. It is a right-hand cut design and ships individually as a single-piece unit.
This drill bit is used in precision machining, toolroom, and production drilling applications where small-diameter hole quality and dimensional accuracy are required. Typical applications include drilling in hardened steels, stainless alloys, cast iron, and other materials where a standard high-speed steel bit would wear prematurely. The 4.00 mm shank diameter allows it to seat in collet chucks and drill chucks sized for that shank. It is appropriate for use in CNC machining centers, CNC drill presses, and manual precision drill presses operated by machinists and toolmakers.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production micro drill bit for use in any toolholding system accepting a 4.00 mm shank; part of OSG Series 5330.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom professional. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before loading or changing tooling. Seat the 4.00 mm shank fully and evenly in the collet or drill chuck and verify runout before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and drill diameter, as solid carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to fracture under excessive load or lateral deflection.
