The OSG 3132010 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in tight geometries and small-feature work. It carries a 0.0394-inch cutting diameter, a 0.0591-inch length of cut, and a 0.1575-inch shank diameter. The two-flute, right-hand-cut geometry runs a 30-degree helix angle, balancing chip evacuation with edge strength in demanding materials. The WXL coating provides wear resistance suited to dry and semi-dry cutting. Micrograin carbide construction supports dimensional stability at the fine tolerances this size demands. Machinists and CNC operators working on molds, dies, and precision components are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is well suited to small-bore milling, slotting, and profiling operations where workpiece features measure under 0.100 inches. Its extended-reach design, with a 10 mm reach length, allows access to recessed pockets and stepped features without repositioning. The centercutting capability enables plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral cuts. Applications include aerospace components, medical device machining, mold detail work, and electronics hardware where tight dimensional control is non-negotiable.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide square end mill for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with a collet or toolholder accepting a 0.1575-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in a properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. At this diameter, runout control is critical — inspect TIR with a test indicator before beginning any cut to avoid premature edge failure.
