The OSG 3131504 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous materials in machine shop and tool room environments. With a 0.0197-inch (0.5 mm) mill diameter and a 0.0276-inch length of cut, this micro end mill is engineered for fine-detail work requiring tight tolerances. The 0.1575-inch shank diameter and 45 mm overall length provide a rigid setup in standard collet systems. The WXL coating enhances wear resistance and surface finish. Machinists and CNC operators working on micro-scale features rely on tooling of this specification for accurate, repeatable results.
This end mill is suited for micro milling applications in CNC machining centers and manual mills where small-diameter tooling is required. The extended reach geometry, with a 4 mm reach length, allows access to recessed features and narrow pockets. The 30-degree helix angle and right-hand cut configuration make it appropriate for a wide range of work materials where chip evacuation and surface finish are priorities. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Secure the shank fully into the collet to the recommended grip depth before torquing the collet nut. At this diameter, runout control is critical — inspect the tool holder for contamination or wear before seating the tool. Do not exceed manufacturer-recommended feed and speed parameters for the work material and coating type.
