The OSG 3105100 is a solid carbide ball end mill engineered for high-performance milling across a wide range of ferrous and hard materials. Part of OSG's Series 3710 Exocarb WXL line, this single-end mill features a 1.00 mm (0.0394 inch) cutting diameter with a 1.50 mm length of cut and a 30-degree medium helix angle. The ultra-fine micrograin carbide substrate paired with a proprietary PVD-applied WXL coating delivers thermal resistance and edge retention required for roughing and finishing operations in demanding materials. At 50 mm overall length with a 4.00 mm straight cylindrical shank, it is suited for use in precision CNC machining centers.
This end mill is designed for milling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials as its primary workpiece categories, with secondary capability in non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction configuration suits standard CNC spindle setups. The 2-flute geometry supports chip evacuation in slotting and profiling passes where a small-diameter tool must maintain rigidity without coolant-through capability. Applications include die and mold work, intricate contouring, and finish passes on hardened workpiece materials.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide ball end mill for use in CNC machining centers capable of accepting a 4.00 mm straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, and H (steel, stainless steel, cast iron, hard materials); secondary codes N and S (non-ferrous metals, superalloys and titanium).
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a safe state. Confirm tool holder bore and collet size are compatible with the 4.00 mm shank before seating. Apply appropriate clamping torque per the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout after tool installation using a dial indicator before beginning any cutting operation.
