The OSG 3105060 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in hard and difficult-to-machine materials. Part of the OSG Series 3710 ExocarbWXL line, it features a 0.0236 inch (0.60 mm) mill diameter and a WXL physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating engineered for rigidity and wear resistance. The two-flute, single-end design with a 30-degree helical flute geometry supports both roughing and finishing passes. Ultra fine micrograin carbide substrate maintains edge integrity at the micro scale, making this tool well-suited for mold, die, and precision component work where tight tolerances and surface finish matter.
This end mill is intended for use on CNC machining centers handling steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and hard materials (ISO material codes P, M, K, H), with secondary capability in non-ferrous metals and superalloys including titanium (ISO codes N, S). The 4.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank fits standard ER collet and precision toolholding systems. The 40.00 mm overall length and 1.10 mm length of cut make this tool appropriate for shallow-cavity and fine-detail work in hardened workpieces. It is a single-end tool and does not offer coolant-through or extended-reach configurations.
Designed for use in CNC machining applications requiring a 4.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suited for ISO material groups P, M, K, H, N, and S as specified by OSG for Series 3710 ExocarbWXL tooling.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Seat the 4.00 mm shank fully in a clean, properly sized collet or toolholder and tighten to the toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping procedure. At this diameter, runout control is critical — inspect toolholder and collet condition before use. Verify spindle speed and feed parameters against the OSG cutting data recommendations for the target workpiece material before initiating a cut.
