The OSG 3103015 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in steel, stainless steel, and hard materials. It features a 3 mm diameter cutting edge with a 0.5 mm corner radius and a 2.5 mm length of cut. The tool carries a WXS PVD coating, which improves wear resistance and thermal stability during demanding cuts. With 2 right-hand helical flutes at a medium helix angle, it is built for roughing operations in stub-length configurations. A 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank and 16 mm reach length accommodate extended-reach setups with compatible toolholders. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists install and apply this end mill in precision machining environments.
This end mill is suited for roughing passes in ferrous and hard-material applications, including P-class steel, M-class stainless steel, and H-class hard materials. Its stub-length geometry and extended reach neck make it effective in tight pockets and profiling operations where tool deflection must be minimized. The coarse pitch and 2-flute configuration support chip evacuation in aggressive material removal scenarios. This tool is part of the OSG Series 4592 and is designed for use with standard toolholders in CNC milling machines.
Designed for use with compatible CNC toolholders accepting a 6 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, and hard materials per OSG Series 4592 application guidelines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Verify the shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the toolholder collet or chuck per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut to avoid premature edge wear.
