The OSG 3101504 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-precision milling in demanding material applications. With a 1.5 mm cutting diameter, a 0.2 mm corner radius, and a 1.2 mm length of cut, this stub-length tool is built for controlled material removal in tight-tolerance environments. The WXS PVD coating provides thermal resistance and surface hardness suited for cutting steel, stainless steel, and hard materials. The 4 mm straight-cylindrical shank and extended-reach design accommodate toolholder mounting in CNC machining centers where deep pocket access or neck clearance is required. A licensed machinist or CNC tooling specialist typically selects and installs this end mill.
This end mill is applied in precision machining operations on steel, stainless steel, and hard materials where a corner radius profile is needed to reduce stress concentrations at part corners or blend radii into milled features. With a 12 mm reach length and a 1.45 mm neck diameter, it is suited to extended-reach applications in confined areas such as small pockets, slots, and contoured surfaces. The coarse pitch and helical flute geometry support a roughing material removal type, making it effective for aggressive stock removal at small diameters.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 4 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Intended for CNC milling applications in steel, stainless steel, and hard materials as defined by material codes P, M, and H.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. The shank should be secured in a compatible toolholder to the manufacturer-specified clamping method before operation. Verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to concentricity errors. Do not exceed the rated depth of cut or apply side loads beyond the tool geometry limits, as carbide end mills at this diameter are susceptible to breakage under deflection.
