The OSG 3056203 is a 2-flute solid carbide ball end mill engineered for high-precision finishing operations in hard materials and high-hardness steels. The tool measures 1.00 mm in mill diameter with a 0.50 mm nose radius, and features an extended long-neck geometry with a 6.90 mm neck length and 0.95 mm neck diameter that allows deep-reach access in confined pockets and contoured surfaces. The DUROREY PVD coating provides hardness and wear resistance suited to demanding cutting conditions. Overall length is 45.00 mm with a 4.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. This end mill is designed for single-end use with a right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction.
This tool is suited for high-precision finishing and light roughing in hard material applications, including hardened steels and ferrous alloys. The extended-reach neck design makes it particularly effective in deep-cavity milling, die and mold work, and micro-machining operations where standard-length tools cannot reach the workpiece feature. The 30-degree medium helix angle and helical flute geometry support chip evacuation in finishing passes. This is a metric-dimensioned tool from OSG Series 8590, intended for use in CNC machining centers with appropriate collet or toolholder setups capable of accepting a 4.00 mm shank.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with toolholders or collets accepting a 4.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include hard materials and hardened steels. Part of OSG Series 8590.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is in a safe state before installing or removing the end mill. Use a clean, correctly sized collet or toolholder to achieve proper runout and secure clamping on the 4.00 mm shank. Verify tool projection and reach clearance against the workpiece setup before initiating any cutting cycle.
