The OSG 3042003 is a 2-flute solid carbide ball end mill engineered for high-precision finishing operations in hard materials and hardened steels. The tool features a 2.00 mm (0.0787 inch) mill diameter with a 1.00 mm nose radius, a 6.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank, and a 50.00 mm overall length. It carries OSG DUROREY PVD coating, which provides thermal resistance and surface hardness suited to aggressive cutting conditions in hard workpiece materials. The extended-reach geometry with a 12.00 mm reach length and a 1.95 mm neck diameter allows the tool to access deep or restricted features without sacrificing rigidity. Machinists and toolroom operators working in die and mold, aerospace, and precision component manufacturing will find this tool well matched to finishing passes on hardened steel.
The OSG 3042003 is designed for use in hard materials (material code H) as the primary application, with steel (material code P) as the secondary workpiece material. The extended-reach design and small 2.00 mm cutting diameter make it suitable for fine-detail work in cavities, contoured surfaces, and tight-tolerance features on CNC machining centers. The 25-degree medium helix angle supports chip evacuation during both roughing and finishing passes. A 1.60 mm length of cut and helical flute geometry allow smooth entry and consistent surface finish on hardened workpieces.

Installation and tool changes should be performed with the spindle fully stopped and the machine control in a safe state.
