The OSG 300-3740 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in general machining applications. With a 9.5 mm (0.3740 inch) reamer diameter and a bright, uncoated finish, it delivers consistent sizing in a wide range of materials. The straight flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction make it well suited for through-hole and blind-hole reaming where chip control and surface finish are critical. At 89 mm overall length with a 32 mm flute length and six flutes, this reamer provides the rigidity and cutting action needed for tight-tolerance work in production and job-shop environments.
The 300-3740 is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes where a straight-shank chucking reamer is required. It fits standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Typical applications include finishing pre-drilled holes to close tolerances in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, and other machinable materials. This reamer is part of the OSG 300D series, positioned for standard general machining use where dimensional accuracy and repeatable results are required.
Designed as a general-purpose chucking reamer compatible with standard straight-shank toolholders, drill chucks, and collet systems used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and lathes.
Chucking reamers should be installed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures for the machine in use. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the straight shank firmly in a properly sized collet or chuck to minimize runout, which directly affects hole tolerance and tool life. Always use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material and do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for solid carbide tooling.
