The OSG 300-2205 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in general machining applications. Built to the Series 300D specification, it produces a reamed diameter of 5.60 mm (0.2205 inches) with a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, making it suitable for applications that demand consistent, accurate bore sizing. The four-flute straight configuration provides stable cutting action and smooth surface finishes in through-hole and blind-hole work. At 76 mm overall length with a 25 mm flute length and a straight cylindrical shank, the 300-2205 seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet systems. It is run without coolant through the tool body and arrives in a bright, uncoated finish.
This chucking reamer is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling setups where a finish-reaming operation follows drilling or boring. The 5.60 mm diameter falls within the 5.00 to 6.00 mm range commonly required for metric bearing bores, dowel hole finishing, and close-tolerance pin fits in general metalworking. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians working in job shops, production environments, and maintenance-repair operations are the primary installers of this tool.
Designed as a standard-geometry chucking reamer for general machining applications, compatible with any machine spindle or chuck system accepting a straight cylindrical shank in the applicable diameter range.
This tool is installed and used by machinists in drill press, milling, or CNC drilling operations. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the reamer from the chuck or collet. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the holding device is tightened to the tool holder manufacturer's specification before operation. Run reamers at appropriate speeds and feeds for the workpiece material; do not attempt to use a reamer to remove excessive stock, as reaming is a finishing operation intended to follow a pre-drilled or bored hole close to final size.
