The OSG 300-1406 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed for precision hole finishing in general machining applications. Built to Series 300D standards, it produces accurately sized holes with a reamer diameter of 0.1406 inches (9/64 inch, Wire Size 28) and holds a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches. The straight flute geometry and right-hand cutting direction make it well suited for through-hole reaming in a wide range of workpiece materials. With a 2.5-inch overall length and a 0.75-inch flute length, this reamer fits standard chuck-style toolholders and is used by machinists and tool-room technicians in both production and job-shop environments.
This reamer is intended for general machining applications where close hole tolerances are required. It is commonly used in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and manufacturing operations to finish drilled holes to precise final dimensions. The solid carbide construction provides the rigidity needed for hard materials and high-cycle production use. The straight cylindrical shank allows direct chuck mounting on lathes, drill presses, and CNC machining centers. Coolant-through capability is not included, so flood or mist coolant applied externally is the standard approach for heat management during operation.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide chucking reamer for general machining applications requiring a 9/64 inch (0.1406 inch) finished hole diameter with a straight cylindrical shank.
This reamer is installed and operated by machinists using a standard chuck on lathes, drill presses, or CNC machining centers. The workpiece should be fixtured securely and the spindle should be brought to a complete stop before changing or seating the reamer in the chuck. Use appropriate cutting fluid or mist coolant to manage heat during reaming. Follow shop-standard speeds and feeds for carbide reamers at this diameter to avoid tool deflection or oversize hole conditions.
