The OSG 300-1299 is a solid carbide chucking reamer designed to finish-ream drilled holes to a precise diameter. With a 3.3 mm (0.1299 inch) cutting diameter and a diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, it produces close-tolerance bores suitable for dowel pin fits, bearing seats, and precision assemblies. The four-flute straight design provides smooth chip evacuation in short-chipping materials. At 64 mm overall length with a 19 mm flute length, it is sized for benchtop machining centers and CNC drill-tap machines. This reamer is part of OSG Series 300D, intended for general machining applications across a range of industries.
The 300-1299 is suited for finishing operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where hole finish and dimensional accuracy are critical. The bright, uncoated solid carbide construction makes it appropriate for use in aluminum, brass, cast iron, and mild steel. It is installed via a straight cylindrical shank into a collet chuck or drill chuck on a milling machine, machining center, or dedicated reaming fixture. Cutting direction is right-hand. This tool does not require through-coolant capability and is not configured as a dowel pin or over/under-size reamer.
Designed as an OEM-style general-purpose chucking reamer for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills equipped with a collet or drill chuck capable of holding a straight cylindrical shank.
A licensed machinist or qualified toolroom technician should secure this reamer in a precision collet or drill chuck, ensuring the shank is fully seated and runout is minimized before operation. Spindle speed and feed rate should be set according to the workpiece material and machine manufacturer guidelines — do not exceed the recommended cutting parameters for solid carbide tooling. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting the reamer. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use; carbide tooling is brittle and should not be dropped or subjected to side impact.
