The OSG 2944401 is a spiral flute tap designed for cutting 1-8 UNC right-hand internal threads in a wide range of ferrous materials. It features a 45-degree helix angle and four flutes that evacuate chips upward out of the hole, reducing the risk of chip packing in blind-hole applications. The modified bottoming chamfer allows threading close to the bottom of a bore. Manufactured from vanadium high-speed steel and finished with a steam oxide coating, the tap provides good lubricity and corrosion resistance during cutting operations. Overall length is 5.125 inches with a thread limit of H5.
