The OSG 2833601 is a spiral point plug tap designed for threading through-holes in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Built from Vanadium High Speed Steel (HSS-E) with a steam oxide coating, it offers improved lubricity and chip evacuation compared to standard uncoated taps. The plug chamfer distributes cutting forces across several leading threads, making it well suited for production tapping operations. With a thread size of 3/4-10 UNC and a right-hand thread direction, it produces standard unified coarse threads. The H3 thread limit provides a controlled fit tolerance appropriate for most general-purpose threaded assemblies.

This tap is intended for use in through-hole tapping applications across a broad range of workpiece materials. Suitable material applications include aluminum, low-carbon steel, medium-carbon steel, high-carbon steel, alloy steel, die steel, stainless steel, hardened steel, and cast iron.
