The OSG 2830001 is a spiral point tap designed for cutting 1/4-20 UNC internal threads in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The spiral point geometry pushes chips forward ahead of the tap, keeping the flutes clear and reducing the risk of tap breakage in through-hole applications. Made from vanadium high speed steel with a steam oxide coating, this tap delivers good wear resistance and lubricity across a broad range of materials. It features a plug chamfer, 3 flutes, an H3 thread limit, and a 3B class of fit. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a thread length of approximately 0.594 inches.
