The OSG 2707600 is a round threading die designed to cut external threads on iron and steel workpieces. It produces a 5/8-11 UNC right-hand thread and is manufactured from high-speed steel for extended tool life in production and maintenance environments. The adjustable design allows the operator to fine-tune the die for proper thread fit and to compensate for wear over time. At 1.5 inches outside diameter and 0.5 inches thick, it seats in standard 1.5-inch die stocks. Machinists, pipefitters, and maintenance mechanics use this die for threading bolts, studs, and rod stock on the bench or in the field.
This die is suited for threading mild steel and iron fasteners and rod stock in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and maintenance settings. The 5/8-11 UNC thread form is a common fastener standard across structural, mechanical, and equipment assembly applications. The Series 134 classification identifies it as an adjustable round die compatible with standard die holders of the appropriate size. It is appropriate for both low-volume repair work and higher-volume production threading runs.
Designed for use on iron and steel workpieces. Fits standard die stocks with a 1.5 inch bore. Consult your die stock manufacturer to confirm compatibility before use.
This die is installed and used by machinists, pipefitters, and maintenance mechanics. Secure the die firmly in the die stock before beginning a cut and apply appropriate cutting fluid to reduce heat and improve thread finish on iron and steel. Follow safe machine shop practices and inspect the die for cracks or chipping before each use. Never use a damaged die.
