The OSG 235-0040 is a solid carbide combination drill and countersink designed to drill a pilot hole and countersink in a single pass. Part of the OSG Series 235, it features a 5/16 inch body diameter, a 1/8 inch drill point diameter, and an included angle of 60 degrees for the countersink geometry. The bright polished finish reduces friction and helps with chip evacuation. With an overall length of 2.125 inches and a right-hand cutting direction, this tool is built for precision work in tight tolerances. It is suited for use by machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators working in production and job-shop environments.
This combo drill countersink is rated for use across a wide range of workpiece materials including alloy steel, low and medium carbon steel, high carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum, cast aluminum, Inconel, and titanium. The double end type and plain cutting edge style make it appropriate for standard countersinking operations on fastener seats and chamfer prep in both manual and CNC machine setups. It is a practical choice for any shop requiring a reliable single-tool solution for combined drilling and countersinking.
Compatible with alloy steel, aluminum, cast aluminum, cast iron, high carbon steel, Inconel, low carbon steel, medium carbon steel, stainless steel, and titanium workpieces. Designed for use in standard drill press, manual mill, or CNC machining center setups that accept 5/16 inch shank tooling.
Install and remove this tool only while the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down. Secure the tool firmly in the collet or chuck to the appropriate holding depth before operation. Use cutting fluid or coolant appropriate to the workpiece material, especially when working with stainless steel, Inconel, or titanium. Follow shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate selection.
