The OSG 220-3750 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in a wide range of metallic workpieces. Ground with a 118-degree web-thinned point, it reduces entry thrust and promotes self-centering without a center punch on many materials. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3/8 inches in diameter, and the overall length is 4-1/4 inches with a 2-3/4-inch flute length. The bright, uncoated finish suits general-purpose drilling where coating compatibility or re-sharpening cycles are a consideration. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance mechanics reach for this bit in production and maintenance drilling operations.
This drill bit is suited for drilling blind holes, cross holes, and through holes in steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. It performs well in general-purpose drilling setups on manual mills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers. The regular spiral flute geometry provides consistent chip evacuation in the materials listed above. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended when drilling heat-sensitive alloys or stainless steel.
Designed as a general-purpose OEM-style solid carbide jobber drill for use in steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces. Fits any standard drill chuck or collet accepting a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with drill press, manual mill, or CNC machining center operation. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet to the recommended engagement depth before running the spindle. Because this bit has no coolant-through capability, apply cutting fluid or external coolant to the cutting zone when working stainless steel or other work-hardening alloys. Inspect the point for chipping or wear before each use - solid carbide is brittle and should not be dropped or clamped against hard surfaces.
