The OSG 220-2210 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size 2 (0.2210 inches decimal, 5.61 mm), designed for precise drilling in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built to Series 220D specifications, it features a 118-degree web-thinned point that reduces thrust and aids self-centering on entry. The bright uncoated finish is standard for solid carbide tooling used in general-purpose drilling. Overall length is 3 inches with a 1-3/4-inch flute length and a straight-cylindrical shank. Right-hand spiral flutes and a tapered web configuration promote chip evacuation in the bore. This bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die shops, and maintenance technicians working with precision hole requirements.
The OSG 220-2210 is intended for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and handheld drilling equipment where a wire-gauge carbide bit is specified. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. Typical applications include blind hole drilling, cross-hole drilling, standard through-hole drilling, and self-centering entry in fixtures. General-purpose performance classification makes it a practical stock bit for production and repair work across job shops and industrial maintenance environments.
Designed as a general-purpose solid carbide jobber-length drill bit for use in steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces per Series 220D specifications.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or skilled tradesperson familiar with cutting tool setup and machine operation. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before drilling. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing tooling. Do not exceed recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material and machine type to avoid carbide fracture.
