The OSG 220-1360 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized to wire gauge No. 29 (0.1360 inch / 3.45 mm diameter), designed for precision drilling in metalworking applications. It features a 118-degree web-thinned point angle that promotes self-centering and reduces thrust on entry. The bright uncoated finish keeps the carbide surface as-ground for consistent dimensional accuracy. At 2.5 inches overall length with a 1.375-inch spiral flute length, this bit fits standard jobber-length drill chucks. It is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
The OSG 220-1360 is suited for blind hole drilling, cross-hole drilling, general drilling, and self-centering applications. Compatible primary workpiece materials include steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. Its general-purpose performance rating makes it a practical choice for production and maintenance environments where a reliable small-diameter carbide drill is needed. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard collets or keyless drill chucks without adapters.
The OSG 220-1360 Series 220D drill bit is rated for use in steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpieces (ISO material codes P, M, K, N). It fits any standard drill chuck or collet accepting a straight-cylindrical shank at 3.45 mm shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the collet or drill chuck and verify runout before operation, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading. Power down the machine and lock out the spindle before changing bits. Follow shop-standard speeds and feeds for solid carbide tooling in the target workpiece material — do not use feeds and speeds appropriate for high-speed steel bits, as carbide operates at significantly different parameters.
