The OSG 215-1910 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-precision hole-making in demanding industrial and trade applications. At 0.191 inches (wire size #11, 4.85 mm) in diameter, it features a 135-degree split point with web thinning for fast, accurate starts with minimal walking. The spiral flute geometry and slow spiral type are optimized for chip evacuation in deep-hole drilling. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collets. This bit is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians requiring consistent, repeatable hole tolerance in production environments.
The 215-1910 is suited for drilling steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum silicate, nickel alloy, titanium, and titanium alloys. Its general-purpose performance rating makes it appropriate for job shop, maintenance, and light production drilling where a single bit must handle a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling in moderate-depth applications without excessive deflection.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-purpose drill bit for use in any standard drill press, CNC machining center, or hand drill equipped with a straight-shank chuck or collet sized for the 11.00 mm shank diameter. Compatible with OSG Series 215 tooling applications across the 0.1500 to 0.2000 decimal inch diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with cutting tool safety. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing or inspecting the bit. Confirm chuck or collet runout is within acceptable limits before drilling, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to side-loading. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and maintain hole tolerance.
