The OSG 215-1875 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding materials. Built from solid carbide with a bright uncoated finish, this bit features a 135-degree web-thinned point that reduces thrust on entry and improves self-centering in flat and curved surfaces. The slow spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation in deep cuts while maintaining rigidity in the cut. At 3/16 inches (4.76 mm) in diameter with a straight-cylindrical shank, it fits standard drill chucks and CNC toolholders. Trades and machinists working with tight tolerances rely on the plus 0 to minus 0.013 mm diameter tolerance for consistent, repeatable hole sizing.
This bit is suited for drilling operations in steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum silicate, nickel alloy, titanium, and titanium alloy. Installation and use of solid carbide drill bits should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the spindle is confirmed at the correct speed and feed for carbide before engaging the cut — carbide is brittle and susceptible to chipping under improper load or interrupted contact. Do not use with excessive runout in the chuck or collet, as lateral deflection will cause premature breakage. Cutting fluid is recommended for stainless steel, nickel alloy, and titanium to manage heat buildup.
