The OSG 20481600 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 3/4-inch diameter, a 0.12-inch corner radius, and three right-hand helical flutes with a high-helix, coarse-pitch geometry optimized for roughing operations. The 6-inch overall length and 3/4-inch straight cylindrical shank seat securely in standard toolholders. The bright uncoated finish suits aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and CNC programmers working in job shops, production machining, and maintenance environments are the primary users of this tool.
This end mill is built for single-end use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where a corner radius profile is required to reduce stress concentrations at part shoulders and improve surface finish on non-ferrous metals. With a 3/4-inch length of cut and a 2.5-inch reach length, it accommodates moderate-depth shoulder and slot milling operations. The centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry. It is part of the OSG Series 2048 long-length end mill family and fits standard toolholder collets and end mill holders with a 3/4-inch bore.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 3/4-inch straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal. Part of the OSG Series 2048 long-length corner radius end mill line.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the controller is in an e-stop or tool-change state before loading the tool. Seat the shank fully into a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention mechanism per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the corner radius and cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to impact.
