The OSG 20430400 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/4 inch cutting diameter, a 0.0600 inch corner radius, and a 3-flute spiral configuration with a 45-degree high helix angle. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry and full-slot cuts. With an overall length of 2.5 inches and a 1/4 inch length of cut, this tool fits standard toolholders with a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. The bright/uncoated finish and coarse pitch make it suited to roughing operations in non-ferrous materials. Machinists and CNC operators install this end mill in vertical and horizontal milling centers and machining centers.
This end mill is intended for roughing operations in non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, and brass. The extended reach geometry, with a 1-1/8 inch reach length and a 0.2460 inch neck diameter, allows access to recessed features while maintaining rigidity. It belongs to OSG Series 2043 and is compatible with standard toolholders. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction are the standard orientation for conventional and climb milling on most CNC platforms.
Designed for use with standard toolholders accepting a 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal. Part of OSG Series 2043.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a clean, burr-free collet or toolholder before tightening. Verify runout after installation, as carbide end mills of this diameter are sensitive to concentricity errors that accelerate edge wear. Do not exceed the rated depth of cut for the material and do not use this tool on ferrous workpieces, as the bright/uncoated carbide is not optimized for steel or cast iron.
