The OSG 20222700 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. It features a 5/16-inch diameter, a 13/16-inch length of cut, and a 0.03-inch corner radius that produces a radiused edge at the bottom of a milled profile, reducing stress concentration and improving surface finish. With 2 helical flutes and a right-hand cutting direction, this single-end, centercutting tool is suited for plunge entries and conventional or climb milling passes. The uncoated bright finish is well matched to aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials.
This end mill fits standard toolholder setups on vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills. It is sized for general-purpose slotting, profiling, and light roughing in non-ferrous metals where a radiused corner is required. The 5/16-inch straight-cylindrical shank and 2.5-inch overall length make it compatible with common ER collets and end mill holders used in production and job-shop environments. Machinists and CNC operators running aluminum components, die work, or prototype parts will find this a straightforward fit for regular-length reach requirements.
Designed for use with standard toolholders in CNC and manual milling machines. Primary workpiece material is non-ferrous metal. No specific machine models or replacement part numbers were stated in the product data.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC operators familiar with rotating cutting tools and machine tool setup. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Verify collet or holder bore size matches the 5/16-inch shank before tightening to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use, and confirm runout is within acceptable limits before beginning a cut.
