The OSG 2013400 is a spiral point plug tap designed for threading 3/4-16 UNF right-hand threads in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Built from high-speed steel with a bright finish, this tap operates in through-hole applications where the spiral point pushes chips ahead of the cutting edge to maintain clean, consistent thread formation. With 3 flutes, an H5 thread limit, and a 2B class of fit, it delivers controlled thread geometry suited to precision assembly work. Overall length is 4.25 inches with a shank diameter of 0.59 inches. Machinists, tool and die workers, and maintenance mechanics use this tap in both manual and machine tapping operations.
The OSG 2013400 is suited for threading through-holes in aluminum, cast aluminum, cast iron, low-carbon steel, medium-carbon steel, high-carbon steel, and hardened steel. Its plug chamfer geometry makes it the standard choice for production environments where a starting taper is not required and thread depth needs to reach near the full thread length of 1.22 inches. Series 105 taps from OSG are commonly used in CNC machining centers and manual drill press setups across general manufacturing, maintenance, and repair applications. Coolant-through is not supported on this model.

This tap should be installed in a properly sized tap holder or collet with the machine powered down and secured before tool changes. Apply an appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve thread finish. Follow standard shop safety practices and ensure the workpiece is firmly clamped before beginning the tapping cycle.
