The OSG 20100700 is a solid carbide ball end mill engineered for high-performance cutting in non-ferrous metals such as aluminum and copper alloys. Part of the OSG Series 2010 Exocarbaero line, it features a 0.5-inch mill diameter, a 1.25-inch length of cut, and a 2-flute helical configuration with a 30-degree helix angle. The micrograin carbide substrate and bright uncoated finish support both roughing and finishing operations in a single tool. Special end-cut gashing and offset teeth geometry allow large depths of cut and maximum feed per tooth. This is a single-end, right-hand cutting and flute-direction tool with a straight cylindrical shank.
This end mill is designed for milling operations in non-ferrous metal applications, including aluminum and copper alloys, where chip clearance and surface finish are critical priorities. Its standard-length profile and 0.5-inch straight shank make it compatible with conventional end mill holders and collet chucks used on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The 0.25-inch nose radius delivers a true ball-end profile suited for 3D contouring, profiling, and finishing passes where a radius floor or curved surface is required.
Designed for use in non-ferrous metal applications, specifically aluminum and copper alloys, as part of the OSG Series 2010 Exocarbaero line of high-performance carbide end mills. Fits standard 0.5-inch end mill holders and collet chuck systems.
Installation is performed by machinists and CNC setup technicians using standard end mill holders or collet chucks rated for the 0.5-inch shank diameter. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before tool changes. Verify runout with a dial indicator after seating the tool to confirm proper engagement and minimize premature edge wear. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and OSG cutting data recommendations for speeds and feeds specific to the workpiece material and depth of cut.
