The OSG 2006500 is a spiral point tap designed for cutting 10-24 UNC internal threads in a wide range of materials. It features a 2-flute, plug chamfer geometry with a right-hand thread direction, making it well suited for through-hole tapping operations where chips are pushed forward ahead of the cutting edge. Manufactured from high-speed steel with a bright finish, this tap carries a Thread Limit of H4 and measures 2.375 inches in overall length. It is used by machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking professionals in production and repair applications.
This tap is appropriate for use in both manual and machine tapping setups across light industrial, maintenance, and fabrication environments. The plug chamfer provides a gradual thread lead-in that distributes cutting forces across several threads, reducing the chance of tap breakage in moderate-to-hard materials.
