The OSG 1810400 is a hand STI tap designed to cut screw thread inserts in 6-32 UNC thread forms. STI taps produce an oversized thread profile that accepts helical coil inserts, restoring or reinforcing threads in soft or damaged base materials. This tap features an H3 thread limit, a 3-flute design, and a plug chamfer for standard through-hole and blind-hole starting. It is manufactured from high speed steel with a bright finish. Overall length is 2 inches, thread length is 0.6875 inches (11/16 inches), shank diameter is 0.141 inches, and square drive size is 0.110 inches.
