The OSG 1751605 is a spiral point tap designed for cutting M10x1.50 metric coarse internal threads in through-hole applications. Built from vanadium high-speed steel (HSS-E) and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction in production tapping operations. The plug chamfer lead makes it well suited for through-hole work where chip evacuation ahead of the cutting edge is required. With a 6H class of fit and D6 thread limit, it produces threads within standard metric tolerance for general mechanical assembly. Licensed machinists, toolroom techs, and CNC setup operators are the primary users of this tap.
The OSG 1751605 is used in ferrous machining environments where metric coarse threads are required. Stated material applications include hardened steel, low-carbon steel, medium-carbon steel, and stainless steel. It is suited for production runs on machining centers, CNC lathes, and drill presses equipped with a tapping attachment. The right-hand thread direction and spiral point geometry make it compatible with standard CNC rigid tapping cycles. It carries OSG Series 342 designation, which covers general-purpose metric spiral point taps in this size range.
