The OSG 17507711 is a cobalt extra-length drill bit engineered for demanding production and maintenance drilling where standard-length bits cannot reach. Built from M6K-grade cobalt high-speed steel, this bit carries a WXL finish that extends tool life in abrasive and hard materials. The 120-degree point angle delivers clean entry geometry suited to steel, stainless, cast iron, and similar ferrous alloys. With an overall length of 6.1 inches and a 2-flute spiral flute design with fast spiral, the bit provides efficient chip evacuation in deep-hole applications. The R-thinned web reduces thrust load at entry, making it practical for manual and CNC-assisted drilling operations.
This extra-length drill bit is designed for metalworking applications where extended reach is required — including drilling through thick stock, structural sections, fabrication fixtures, and deep cross-holes. The straight cylindrical shank with a 7/32-inch diameter fits standard drill chucks without adapters. The 3.94-inch flute length accommodates deep passes without requiring frequent bit extraction to clear chips. Machinists, tool-and-die techs, and industrial maintenance professionals working in metal fabrication, MRO, and general manufacturing are the primary users.
Designed as an OSG Series 1750 extra-length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks accepting a 7/32-inch straight cylindrical shank, compatible with drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held drilling equipment configured for right-hand rotation.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with metal cutting operations. Secure the shank fully in the drill chuck and verify runout before cutting. Always wear appropriate eye protection and secure the workpiece before drilling. Consult machine tool manufacturer guidelines for recommended feeds and speeds when drilling cobalt-rated tool steel into the target material.
