The OSG 17507211 is a cobalt extra length drill bit designed for extended-reach drilling in metal fabrication, maintenance, and industrial applications. Built from M6K-grade cobalt steel and finished with OSG WXL coating, the bit delivers improved hardness and thermal resistance over standard HSS tooling. The 0.2031-inch (13/64-inch) diameter, 120-degree split point, and R-thinned web combine to reduce walking, lower thrust force at entry, and produce clean, consistent through-holes. This bit is part of OSG Series 1750, engineered for high-performance use in ferrous and non-ferrous materials where standard-length bits cannot reach the required depth.
This bit is suited for structural fabrication shops, tool-and-die operations, aerospace maintenance facilities, and general industrial environments where deep-hole drilling is required. The extra overall length makes it practical for drilling through thick stock, deep cavities, or fixtures that restrict access. The fast spiral flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation during extended cutting cycles, reducing heat buildup and extending tool life. Machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking tradespeople are the primary installers and operators of this tool.
Designed as an OEM-style extra length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks, collets, and CNC spindles accepting a straight-cylindrical 13/64-inch shank.
This bit is intended for use by qualified machinists or metalworking technicians operating drill presses, CNC machining centers, or hand-held drill units. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the chuck or collet is properly tightened before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material to manage heat, as cobalt tooling can be damaged by dry cutting in high-hardness alloys. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit when point geometry is compromised.
