The OSG 1725008 is a spiral point tap designed for cutting 9/16-12 UNC internal threads in a wide range of ferrous materials. Built from Vanadium High Speed Steel (HSS-E) and finished with a Titanium Carbonitride (TiCN) coating, this plug-chamfer tap delivers elevated wear resistance and heat tolerance compared to standard uncoated HSS tooling. The spiral point geometry pushes chips forward ahead of the tap, making it well suited for through-hole tapping applications. It features a right-hand thread direction, H3 thread limit, and 3 flutes. Overall length is 3.594 inches with a thread length of 1.43 inches.

This tap is intended for use in machining and fabrication environments where through-hole threading is performed on hardened steel, low-carbon steel, medium-carbon steel, and stainless steel workpieces. Compatibility

Installation Notes
