The OSG 16714 is a spiral point tap designed for threading M4x0.70 metric coarse internal threads in a wide range of materials. It features a plug chamfer, 3 flutes, and a right-hand thread direction. The tap is manufactured from High-Speed Steel-E and finished with a steam oxide coating that reduces friction and provides light corrosion resistance during storage and use. With an overall length of 52 millimeters and a thread length of 13 millimeters, this tap is suited for through-hole tapping operations where chip evacuation toward the front of the hole is critical to clean thread formation.

This tap is suited for both production and maintenance tapping in through-hole applications. The 2B class of fit delivers a standard tolerance thread appropriate for most general-purpose fastener assemblies.
