The OSG 1650501008 is a spiral flute tap designed for threading 8-36 UNF internal threads in a wide range of metallic workpieces. Built from powdered metal (grade PMT15) and coated with titanium carbonitride (TiCN), it delivers extended tool life in demanding tapping operations. The 45-degree right-hand helix flute geometry evacuates chips upward, making it well suited for blind-hole applications. With a modified bottoming chamfer, the tap threads close to the bottom of a hole while maintaining controlled thread form. Installation Notes

Cutting fluid or tapping compound appropriate for the workpiece material should be applied to reduce heat and improve thread finish. Do not reverse the tap under power until the flutes have cleared the hole to avoid breakage.
