Product Description

The OSG 1650009808 is a spiral flute tap designed for cutting M3x0.50 metric coarse internal threads in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Manufactured from powdered metal and finished with a V coating, this bottoming tap produces threads to a 6H class of fit with a D3 thread limit. The 45-degree helix angle drives chips up and out of the flute, making it well suited for blind-hole tapping applications. At 56 millimeters overall length with a 19 millimeter tapping depth, it fits standard tool holders used on CNC machining centers and manual drill presses alike. A licensed machinist or tooling technician is the typical end user.

This tap is intended for use on a broad set of workpiece materials including alloy steel, low-carbon steel, medium-carbon steel, high-carbon steel, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum, and cast aluminum. Its bottoming chamfer allows threading to the base of a blind hole where plug or taper taps cannot reach.
