The OSG 1635002045 is a thread forming tap designed for M2x0.40 Metric Coarse threads with a 6H class of fit. Made from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiCN (Titanium Carbonitride) coating, this tap cold-forms internal threads without cutting, producing stronger thread walls through material displacement. The modified bottoming chamfer with 2.5 to 3 chamfered threads allows threading close to the bottom of blind holes. Overall length is 1.77 inches (45 mm), with a thread length of 0.44 inches (8 mm) and a tapping depth of 0.35 inches (9 mm). Part of the OSG EXOPRO XPF Series 16350, this tool is suited for precision threading in small-diameter applications handled by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
