The OSG 15750005 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in steel and alloy steel applications. It carries a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating for extended tool life and reduced friction during cutting. The bit features a 130-degree drill point angle with R-thinned web geometry for improved self-centering and reduced thrust in tough materials. At 8.5313 inches overall length with a 5-7/8 inch flute length, this is a standard jobber-length tool suited for general-purpose production drilling. It is sold individually and intended for use in machine tool setups by machinists and metalworking professionals.
This bit is optimized for drilling blind holes, cross holes, and through holes in steel and alloy steel workpieces. The regular spiral flute and right-hand cut make it compatible with standard drill press, CNC, or manual mill setups. The straight-cylindrical shank at 7/8 inch diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. The R-thinned point reduces the need for a separate center-drilling step in many setups. It is well-suited for production environments where tool consistency and dimensional accuracy are required.
Designed for use in drilling steel and alloy steel workpieces. Suitable for blind hole, cross hole, and through-hole drilling operations using standard drill press, CNC machining center, or manual milling machine setups that accept a 7/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with rotary cutting tool safety. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and confirm runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Ensure the workpiece is firmly fixtured before drilling to prevent movement under cutting load. Cutting fluid or coolant is recommended when drilling steel to manage heat buildup, even though this bit does not support through-tool coolant delivery.
