The OSG 15296905 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, engineered for high-performance drilling in steel and alloy steel. The bit measures 19/64 inch (0.2969 inch / 7.54 mm) in diameter with a 4-7/8 inch overall length and a 3-1/16 inch flute length. The 130-degree split point angle and R-thinned web design reduce walking and lower the thrust required to start a hole. This bit is sold individually and is suited for professional machinists and metalworking tradespeople working in production or maintenance environments.
The OSG 15296905 is intended for drilling in steel and alloy steel workpieces in a range of applications including blind holes, cross holes, through-hole drilling, and self-centering operations. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard 3/8 inch chucks on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power drills. Its regular spiral flute geometry promotes consistent chip evacuation in the material types this bit is rated for. This is a single-piece unit appropriate for job-site and shop use.
Designed for use in steel and alloy steel workpieces (Primary Workpiece Material Code: P). Fits standard 3/8 inch drill chucks on drill presses, hand drills, and CNC equipment. Part of OSG Series 1500 jobber-length cobalt drill bits covering the 0.2500 to 0.3000 inch diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or metalworking technician familiar with drill press or CNC operating procedures. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling and confirm chuck grip on the straight shank before starting the spindle. This bit does not support coolant-through delivery; apply cutting fluid externally at the drill point when drilling deep holes or harder alloys to manage heat buildup. Inspect the cutting edges and TiN coating for wear before each use and replace the bit when diameter tolerance or point geometry is compromised.
