The OSG 15110005 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in steel and alloy steel. It carries a Titanium Nitride (TiN) coating that increases surface hardness and reduces friction during cutting operations. The bit is wire gauge size 35, which corresponds to a decimal diameter of 0.1100 inches (2.79 mm). Overall length is 2-15/16 inches with a 1-1/2 inch flute length. The 130-degree split point and X-thinned web reduce thrust requirements and improve self-centering on entry. This drill is suited for machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking trades who need reliable performance in ferrous materials.
This bit is built for use in ferrous metal applications including steel and alloy steel, spanning both production and maintenance environments. Its tool application ratings cover blind hole drilling, cross hole drilling, general drilling, and self-centering starts. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 3/16 inch shank diameter fits standard drill chucks without adapters. The regular spiral flute promotes consistent chip evacuation. At 0.01 pounds, it is suited for use in hand drills, drill presses, and CNC drilling operations where a wire gauge 35 diameter is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard drill bit for use in ferrous metal drilling applications where a wire gauge size 35 jobber length drill is specified.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or metalworking technicians familiar with drill press or CNC equipment operation. Power down and de-energize all equipment before changing tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a keyed or keyless chuck to the appropriate torque for the equipment manufacturer specification. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit, so appropriate surface or flood coolant application at the cutting zone is recommended when drilling harder alloys.
