The OSG 1500100100 is a double-end plug thread gage used to verify the dimensional acceptance of 2-56 UNC threaded holes to Class 2B tolerance standards. One end carries the Go member and the opposite end carries the No Go member, allowing a technician to confirm both minimum and maximum material conditions in a single tool. The gage is manufactured from high speed steel for wear resistance and dimensional stability under repeated use. A handle is included. This type of gage is a standard quality-control instrument used in precision machining, assembly, and inspection environments.
This gage is intended for inspecting 2-56 internally threaded features where Class 2B fit verification is required. Typical applications include production floor inspection of machine screws, tapped holes in sheet metal, electronic enclosures, and small mechanical assemblies. The double-end configuration reduces tool changeover time during go/no-go acceptance testing. It is suited for use by machinists, quality control inspectors, and precision assembly technicians working with fine-thread fastener specifications.
Designed for inspection of 2-56 UNC internally threaded holes held to Class 2B tolerance, consistent with ASME B1.2 plug thread gage standards for unified inch screw threads.
Thread gages are inspection instruments, not cutting tools. Insert the Go end by hand with light torque only — forcing the gage can damage threads or produce a false reading. The Go end should pass fully through an acceptable thread; the No Go end should not enter more than two turns. Store the gage in its protective case when not in use to prevent nicks and wear that would affect calibration accuracy.
